Ready yourself for an amazing evening as Buffalo Nichols takes his revolutionary blues music to the historic Carolina theater in Durham, North Carolina. This special Wavemakers Series concert, curated by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Rissi Palmer, occurs on Tuesday, 10th March 2026.
The guitarist achieved universal fan appreciation through his musical style which combines traditional blues with punk and West African and shoegaze elements. His 2023 album The Fatalist demonstrates his individual approach to musical style transformation. Born in Houston but raised in Milwaukee achieved critical success after his debut album release and his Newport Folk Festival performance. Here's something, Nichols discovered his passion for guitar through his mother's record collection, containing legends like Son House, Keb' Mo' and Skip James, while simultaneously singing in a Baptist church.
The Beaux-Arts style venue operates at 309 W Morgan Street in downtown Durham North Carolina. The venue was built in 1926 and received National Register of Historic Places. The 1,048-seat venue at Fletcher Hall provides two levels of seating which include plush orchestra seats and two tiers that offer excellent views.
